Editorial: Debt Relief For Yahya Jammeh And Not For The Gambia!!

Editorial: Debt Relief For Yahya Jammeh And Not For The Gambia!!

The World Bank and the International Money Fund must be out of touch with the economic realities taking place in The Gambia. Yes, that’s our standpoint. The firm’s External Wing should avoid relying on false and exaggerated economic indications supplied to them by The Gambian Government. The Gambian Government has long been lying to our donor partners just to secure financial assistance. This administration survives on lies and deception. They have been openly lying that things are rosy in The Gambia, when in actual fact, the average Gambian is starving to death on a daily basis. There is no political and economic freedoms in The Gambia. We wondered how the World Bank and the IMF came with such a conclusion that this government is spearheading serious economic policies. In the absence of poverty alleviation, an end to official graft, there is no way that the Gambia can qualify for such debt relief. Corruption is endemic in The Gambia. Rights abuses is also a common feature in this country.

Lady Zeinab Jammeh-second baby-Muhammed Yahya Jammeh-father curing infertility

By Hammadi Maasinah

Today Zeinab Suma Jammeh left the shores of Dulles airport destination Banjul. Her entourage was that of guards,ladies-in-waiting,sacks and sachets full of diapers for the new boy of Yahya Jammeh's family. The Gambian first lady has been in Washington DC for the past weeks slaying our country's economy to the best of her ability while Bwiam hospital's electricity was DEAD! It went off in the presence of a visiting eye specialist who was invited by the Gambian head of state to see his so-called infrastrutures. Structures built for a dying population bearing the yoke of oppression and mercilessness.
Aha! Yahya Jammeh...One question for your shameless face again? Was Zeinab part of the patients receiving your herbs-to cure infertility? Lets do the math here...Zeinab's last child was born almost 8 years ago. Her second child is just a few months old. Was she spacing birth or was she refusing to have another baby for the baby-hungry president? Which is which here? In this math it ONE PLUS ONE EQUALS TO ZERO! Can anyone in his right senses imagine how much of a fabricator Yahya Jammeh is? None can ever measure this man's endless deceptive strides. He curves and turns at anytime with a very shallow mind. Some people ask how comes Yahya is still in power and you call him stupid man...? This is not difficult to figure out. He is there because he is fool scattering wealth for the hypocrites and appologist.

My name in the "shaded" history of shifting "stigmas"

By Essa Bokarr Sey

Hello Truth! Have you been finally tried by time? Is the gavel up or down? Why not strike on the table and remove the weeping wig? Hah Truth?! I Essa Bokarr Amadou Hamad Sey will not praise the days,I will always welcome the days to praise those great minds of time. Time after time,so many souls have been soaked,so many minds have been blinded,so many tongues have been twisted but time controls the trial not authority. Nation building is not fashion on the cushion! When the race starts, usually those ahead in the beginning,do not end it. There is one proverb in Fulani that says..."Ndimou hattaa maaye deh kono surat gaccheh"-Honour cannot stop death but can repell shame!
These were the medals of Maasinah Pulloh's Gallo Haawah and others.

Editorial: Gambia In The Hands Of Lebanese!! Spectrum Group A Failure.

The Gambia is slowly, but surely heading to a full blown political crisis. With little or no natural resources, the nation’s main economic nerves are today entrusted to Lebanese Nationals, whose pre-occupation is to milk Gambia’s ailing economy before the country would run into a total turmoil. Lebanese so called investors helped to wreck war ravaged Sierra Leone. They engaged in shady business activities, ranging from drug trafficking, foreign exchange hoarding, the sale of “blood diamonds” , gun running just to name a few. There are good and bad Lebanese. Be wary of Lebanese runaway Hezbollah fighters. These are dangerous creatures capable of fanning crisis in a particular country.

Changes to U.K. Immigration.

By Micheal Scales, UK

Dear Mr.Editor,

The United Kingdom, remains the most desired destination in Europe, for migrants from The African Continent. What motivates Africans to this cause,is usually considered to be economically generated, although their are other factors. This issue has not been given constructive direction by some African Governments. How this has impacted on the citizens of Africa and the U.K. remains diverse in opinion, the consequences of which, remain in a state of flux.It is very important to consider the views of the peoples concerned and those directly affected by this modern phenonomen without giving vent to prejudice and nationalism.A front page article in one of the U.K.'s leading newspapers this morning, suggests that upto 166,500 of the present backlog of 450.000 applications for assylum, may be given "stealth amnesty" by the British Government. This comes amidst new proposals that entry to the U.K. through future legal applications, are to be subject to greater inspection control and condition.By Spring of 2008,appplicants will be fingerprinted and may require personal identity cards. The further proposal for "visitor" visas may be reduced from 6 months to 3 months, allied to a deposit of upto £1000, may be required.
