Breaking News: The Big Interview: Micheal Scales comments On Ghana's Case Against Jammeh!!
Wednesday, January 16, 2008 (480 reads)

“The crime involves several ECOWAS citizens from different countries. I can understand why the first port of call would be to ECOWAS.Perhaps they will consider an amalgam of presentation of behalf of all the countries involved. My understanding of the individual legal capability of each concerned country is limited. This combined approach would make sense. The essence of your question is fundamental to my understandable confusion on African Justice and stretches to African Government. My view is somewhat limited to Britain’s view as an Englishman. This view has experience of The Gambia but only as a frequent visitor who investigated company law as would avail itself on British Investors. However, I would say by experience, that the way The Gambia conducts its Judiciary and its police and its institutions are based roughly on the British model. This could be a general view of those nations who were former British colonies. However in this case, the similarity on how the matter would have been handled stops there.” That was Michael Scales, a British entrepreneur. He was speaking in an Interview with the Freedom Newspaper. Scales was reacting to Ghana’s move to drag Gambia’s President Yahya Jammeh to the ECOWAS for the killings of its nationals in The Gambia in July of 2005. Below is the full text of the interview. Please read on…

Freedom Newspaper; You have been an active observer of African politics. What do you make out of the move by the Ghanaian Government to drag Gambia's President Yahya Jammeh to the ECOWAS court.

Michael Scales; First off...I have not had time to survey all the information on this breaking news. The reports that I have are confined to the images on Freedoms pages. However, let me open by adding a note of caution to your leading question.

Editorial: Sitting President Jammeh Indicted on Genocide Charges!!

We salute the Ghanaian Government for its recent move to drag Africa’s leading genocidal perpetrator President Yahya Jammeh to the ECOWAS Court. Well done Ghana. Africa is proud of you. This case if won it would wipe out the tears of bereaved families in Ghana. It would also end culture of impunity and lawlessness in the Gambia.
