Gambia Embassy Website In DC Grounded!!

Was The Site Disabled For Non Payment of Web hosting Fees?

Roots Home Coming Festival Delegates And Other Travelers Complain About The Non Operational Of The Gambian DC Website!!

Ever since the removal of The Gambian Ambassador to Washington Dodou Bammy Jagne, life has changed for the worst at The Gambian Mission in DC. Not only faced by leadership deficiency, the Embassy’s main website with the domain name http://www.gambiaembassy.us
has been shut down for unexplained reasons. Travelers who used the said website for visa application, Passport processing, and other travel needs were left devastated by the sudden absence of the Gambian Mission’s website on the worldwide web. The Mission’s website has been shutdown for a while now. Embassy officials never bothered to explain to their clients, including The Gambian Community overseas as to what might be responsible for the grounding of the said website. The non operational of http://www.gambiaembassy.us would no doubt deprive the Embassy several thousands of dollars, as many visa applicants and other travelers used the said site to process their visa applications. Most of these travelers are naturalized Gambian US Citizens, US born Citizens and other foreign Nationals.

Can you please allow me space in your widely read and respected line news paper to utterly reject Samsideen Sarr’s bigoted outburst against the Mandingo tribe and his continuous attempts to defend his position.Samsideen Sarr is a calculating, dangerous and tribalist bigot who should never be allowed to succeed in his calculating schemes, which is a deluded and selfish scheme of ‘positioning’ himself for a political stake in The Gambia after Jammeh. I believe the unanimous rejection from all section of the Gambian society, of his bigoted diatribes against the Mandingo tribe is a reflection of our shared values of tolerance and progress. One only have to look at the pattern, content and context of his articles ever since he started writing to the online newspaper, to know that this is a bitter, failed and power hungry bigot who has this deluded claim to ‘intellectual wisdom’, all aimed at positioning himself as a alternative for post Jammeh.

………Disgruntled Gambian Student In Taiwan Exposes Ambassador Juwara And His Embassy Staff!

“The Embassy has a staff of 5, comprising of the Ambassador Mawdor Juwara, Felix Ebrima Badjie as the first secretary and Famara Sanyang as the financial attaché. Felix Badjie's wife as the cleaner and Lamin as the driver. The first secretary's wife and the financial attaché’s wife are not in talking terms, because of the push and pull for the cleaning job at the embassy, which is done once a week.” said the concerned Gambian student.

The Gambian Ambassador to Taiwan Mawdor Juwara has been accused of refusing to release 5000 Euros gift given to The Gambian students in that Island country by President Yahya Jammeh, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. The money was given to the 89 Gambian students in Taiwan by the Gambian leader during his December 2007 visit to Taiwan, an aggrieved student told the Freedom Newspaper. Ambassador Juwara who is running a five staff Embassy, has also been accused of unnecessary foot-dragging, bureaucratic red-tap among others. The Ambassador’s failure to handover the said money to the students is becoming a main bond of contention. The aggrieved student who begged anonymity said the Ambassador went ahead and opened a bank account on their behalf with the said Jammeh funds without their prior consent.

Pa I will have to thank posthumously on your two year anniversary. I think we Gambians should be proud of your unrelenting effort to uphold press freedom and accommodation of divergent views on matters of national debate. This is what we expect from a good journalist/editor. Fairness to all should not be consigned to mere utterance but a personal preoccupation exercised at all times. You cannot hold people to one standard and another for yourself. That is tantamount to double standards. Wish you success in all your endeavors including managing this well read medium. Death is an eventuality that every creature being it Man, Jinn, Angels or other creation of whose existence and nature we have no knowledge shall taste. It is an unavoidable degree from the creator of all, The Master Planner and Sustainer of the known and unknown cosmic dispensations. The time and circumstances of death is the absolute knowledge of the creator not the creation. So no one is endowed with the absolute knowledge of his/her death. Be it through illness, a horrible accident, a heart attack; whether at young age, prime age or old age. It can even be the next minute, as we have seen people leave there home to shop and returned home lifeless. We have seen our own dear ones expired under our guise and we are defenseless despite availability of the greatest advance medical aid.

I am mortally disappointed by Sam Sarr for his infantile gimmicks and indefensible posture. I am even ashamed of sharing a second name with him (he is no relation). I am a Banjul Wollof from Haddington Street with all roots in the Greater Banjul Area. His divisive attempts to muddy our political climate with tribal pathos is at best hypocritical and cowardly. What was expected from Sam Sarr was the contrary of what he presented, and in his trade mark arrogant ways, he shamelessly brushes every commentator aside as if he could lay exclusive claim to perfection and intellectualism. He landed himself as a pitiful jester.

They informed me that I was required in Banjul probably on promotion grounds. But going by their attitude on arrive, that theory could not be possible. No, I did not run because I was guilty of any crime, but as I told the Independent newspaper a day after my departure, I ran for my life. Under a true democratic dispensation one would be obliged to remain so as to clear his name.” said the Erstwhile Junta Spokesman and Former North Bank Division Commissioner Alhagie Kanteh. Speaking in an Exclusive interview with the Freedom Newspaper at his Swiss Residence, Captain Kanteh recounted how he escaped when NIA officers led by Foday Barry came to pick him up at his office in Kerewan. Kanteh tells the Freedom Newspaper that President Jammeh was after his head at the material time and he therefore deem it imperative to run for his life. Captain Kanteh who was accused of coup plot alongside with his Cousin Lieutenant Lalo Jaiteh and others briefly resided in Dakar, Senegal prior to securing sanctuary in Swiss. In this marathon interview, Captain Kanteh reflects on his past encounter with the NIA, the death of journalist Deyda Hydara, the murder of Finance Minister Ousman Koro Ceesay, the massacre of 14 Gambian students, the November 11 incident, Sanna Bairo Sabally and a host of other issues.
