News just came in that Blinda Bidwell former Deputy speaker of Gambia’s Parliament has been named as the country’s new speaker. She replaces disgraced speaker Sheriff Mustapha Dibba. Mr.Dibba was recently arrested and dumped at the Mile Two Central Prisons, after been accused of conspiring with alleged coup plotters to topple Jammeh’s government. After languishing in jail for couples of days, Dibba was granted bail, while his fate is yet to be decided. Meanwhile, the Freedom Newspaper was informed that nominated MP George Aszizz was elevated to the position of Deputy speaker. George is the proprietor of Afra FM Bar and Restaurant. He was hand picked by President Jammeh, following the sacking of Ramzia Diab from the house. George’s nomination as Deputy Speaker followed an election organized by the ruling APRC, in which he defeated his opponent Fatoumatta Jahumpa Ceesay who was never voted in by the APRC members.

Tuesday, April 18, 2006 (430 reads)

              SOURCE: REUTERS NEWS AGENCY

BANJUL (Reuters) - Gambian President Yahya Jammeh, a former wrestler and bird lover, said on Tuesday anyone aspiring to his job needed the patience of a vulture as he planned to rule for at least another three decades."Those who want to be president in this country, they have to wait like a vulture, patiently, for a very long time," Jammeh told a rally of his supporters weeks after what his government said was the latest in a string of coup attempts." They have to wait at least 30 years," he said, adding he would consider handing over power only once he had succeeded in his ambition of turning the tiny former British colony into an oil producer and a "role model for Africa".

By Bubacarr K. Sowe

The Chief Justice of The Gambia, Justice A.K Savage, has called on Gambians to take their destiny into their own hands in every field of human endeavor, in order to be independent.
The Chief Justice made these remarks on Thursday at the Ocean Bay Hotel in Cape Point, Bakau, at the beginning of a three-day seminar for Judges, Magistrates and top Judicial officers."Gambians should take their destiny into their own hands in every field of human endeavor, if we want to be really independent. HALIFA ON THE 10 THOUSAND MAN (WOMAN) MARCH

Foroyaa: SOS Yankuba Touray indicated that you should be asked by journalists why NADD did not attend the Ten thousand man (woman) March? Can you give an explanation?
Halifa: I will not blame SOS Touray but hopefully he will be guided by our opinion if they are indeed committed to the letter and spirit of the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the different Political Parties. First and foremost, the concept of unity in diversity should be based on the principle of partnership without nullifying differences in core principles or policies.

PANORAMA with 'Bulfaaleh'-President Jammeh's Secret wife in Banjul? Aziz Tamba talks to many people
Tuesday, April 18, 2006 (1237 reads)

Who did Aziz Tamba talk to?

A girl claiming to be Aziz Tamba's friend has started revealing certain things about President Jammeh's household. Aziz revealed these details first before the girl started doing so.He is saying that he coordinated a secret marriage between Jammeh and a girl (name witheld) in Banjul. Aziz was complaining about the marriage to someone because he does not like the girl. He prefers Jammeh or his uncle to marry a girl from their own ethnic group.

PANORAMA with 'Bulfaaleh'-Jammeh waving a hand kerchief before 10,000 supporters! out of 1.5 M people!
Monday, April 17, 2006 (600 reads)

Here is a man waving a hand kerchief before 10,000 people. People who have been forced to show support to the APRC regime. Just on the left corner(far left) one can see an empty spot. We heard and saw his supporters talk about 100,000 people? This picture speaks for itself. Is this a large crowd? Can 100,000 people fit in that small July 22nd square? 'Bulfaaleh' was in this very crowd. Think about it on your own i.e. if I were really supporting Jammeh or not?

PANORAMA with 'Bulfaaleh' Bad news is not our choice,it Jammeh-made.How Daba died?
Monday, April 17, 2006 (870 reads)

More details on the graphic scenes about Daba Marenah's death....

Ngorr Secka is a victim of unknown circumstances. Ngorr was arrested because he was accused of having extended condolences to Daba's family members. Was this a slip of the tongue or a deliberate move of honesty? Sometimes President Jammeh forgets that these people have been together for years. Is it all that easy for them to detach themselves from one another just like that? After Ngorr was arrested sources from the same NIA and state house are spreading the following version.

BREAKING NEWS: DISGRACED SPEAKER DIBBA GRANTED BAIL-FREEDOM AT LAST!!!
Monday, April 17, 2006 (673 reads)

EX-SPEAKER S. M. DIBBA RELEASED, MEANWHILE, EX-NIA CHIEF MARENA & CO'S. WHEREABOUTS REMAIN MYSTERIOUS.

By Ebrima G. Sankareh

Raleigh, NC- According my unassailable source at the office of the Gambian President, the embattled speaker of the National Assembly, Mr. Sheriff Mustapha Dibba has been granted bail and is resting after what is described as a humiliating ordeal in the hands of state intelligence agents. Dibba who was picked up at about 5:00am last Thursday and whisked in a security car at breakneck speed, has since been the subject of great debate and speculation fueled further by the APR's lack of transparency.
