Freedom Newspaper Mail Bag: What our readers say today!!! Wednesday, May 17, 2006 (545 reads)
By: A Concerned Gambian
Mr. Mbai: I just got off talking to relative in Gambia who informed me that the IEC has found another box with no picture full of ballots. The relative confirmed that this information was announced over the TV. In another disturbing venue, Lamin Kitty Jabang went around on Saturday night giving rice, sugar and money to folks in Julakunda, a predominantly Jola section. Some of the residents refused to take the offer, but some took Jabang's bribe.

Via facsimile: (202) 726-1860
Your Excellency:
The Committee to Protect Journalists is deeply troubled by the deterioration of press freedom in the Gambia. Authorities in your country have held a journalist without any official explanation since April 10 and have prevented his newspaper, The Independent, from operating for more than seven weeks.

Jammeh is a threat to Press freedom- He killed, imprisoned and forcefully exiled local journalists!!! Africa's worse despot evern born.....

PANORAMA with 'Bulfaaleh'-President Jammeh's Mother evaucated to Belgium-GAMS PETROLEUM FOOTS THE BILL. Wednesday, May 17, 2006 (938 reads)

JAMMEH'S MUM FLOWN
TO BELGIUM FOR TREATMENT
President Jammeh seriously exposed! How the mother flown to Belgium?
President Snubbing the US hospitals by sending his mother to Belgium?
This further confirms what some people have been saying i.e. President Jammeh is not so happy with Washington because he calls them “DOUBLE STANDARDS“ during the early days of his 1994 coup. This was the time when America and civilized nations around the world imposed sanctions against the military boys without a vision. American and other Western countries were right when they imposed sanctions. But Jammeh with his little head thought that he was being punished unjustly. This was far from the reality. Freedom loving nations will never support or work with military governments who came through the barrel of the gun. Jammeh came without getting the mandate of the people and he will certainly leave sooner or later. He reacts in this childish manner when angry with a country or people.

JAMMEH WORRIED ABOUT HIS MUM'S HEALTH!!!

PANORAMA with 'Bulfaaleh'-Figures and Bills from Treasury department-Crispin Johnson most expensive Ambassador ever! Wednesday, May 17, 2006 (650 reads)
$6000.00-Six Thousand US Dollars monthly rent of His Excellency the Ambassador.
Details received from an insider at the office of the accountant general have exposed a shameless official. Recently Ambassador Johnson was seen on the daily observer harping on patriotism while condemning coup d'etats. Little did those read this man's version know that he is one of those who cause these coups. Imagine this man spending $6000.00 on rent every month? Multiplying this huge figure to 12 months gives a scary answer.

Ambassador Johnson grilled again-Bufaaleh spills the beans!!

Omar Gibba and Njogu Bah were given a long rope to hang themselves...
For some reason we left these two talkatives hang themselves up. We received reliable sources surround the reason why they traveled to New York but decided to keep quiet until the end. On May 17th 2006 Gibba and Bah will be traversing the Atlantic ocean flying back to The Gambia after completing a mission in New YORK. The mission is linked to the preparations of President Jammeh's visit to the UN General Assembly in September 2006.

PANORAMA with 'Bulfaaleh'-NGORR SECKA SUFFERS FROM SPINAL CORD INJURY AFTER SEVERE TORTURE! Wednesday, May 17, 2006 (738 reads)
Ngorr Secka hospitalised...NIA officers reveal deep details...
Sources we came across have revealed disturbing details on Ngorr Secka's health condition. Ngorr according to the same was said to have been transported to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Banjul after facing severe torture sessions with the CHIAKAS. Ngorr was accused of leaking information surrounding Daba Marenah's death to the former Director's family. This was considered a serious breach of confidence and leaking top state secrets to the wrong elements. Unfortunately for Ngorr this information was out in the street as soon as Daba was sent to the shirks in the deep blue sea. Ngorr is the wrong person to arrest for this. President Jammeh is now disassociating himself from these tortures but that will be hard to do.

PANORAMA with 'Bulfaaleh'-Gambian Electoral Commission IEC Changes results without a petition to help President Jammeh. Wednesday, May 17, 2006 (357 reads)
First time in world politics...Even Hitler would have at least cooked a petition.
The Gambia's electoral Commission or the IEC-Independent Electoral Commission has done something unheard of. Mr. Ndondi Njie the head of the IEC is a trailer and nothing but a trailer. This man is a trailer carrying wagons of fear and fraud. It is of course a new dirty trick. Even dictators like Hitler might have at least prepared a bogus petition before influencing a body like the IEC. Who has ever heard or seen an Electoral Commission issuing two press releases for the same results? This is not part of the finest traditions of democracy. After the first press release was issued who thought that the IEC could jump out of their holes with such a disgraceful act?

Jammeh good at election rigging!!!

By:Our Banjul Bureau Chief
IEC rigs Kombo East by-elections
Gambians were taken aback Monday night when the IEC issued a press release to give the public new figures of the recently held Kombo East by elections a day after the results were declared. The new figures affected only the APRC candidate because 300 more votes were added to his votes. According to the previous results which were endorsed by the IEC, Jung Conteh of APRC scored 3365 vote, Lamin R Darboe of UDP 2814 and Momodou Lamin Touray of Nadd 1109 votes. But everybody was surprised when the IEC came with the new figures creating suspicion that the elections have been rigged.

The Death in Busumbala............ Tuesday, May 16, 2006 (711 reads)
By:Associate Editor Mathew Jallow
It was late evening, and the setting sun cast a red shadow that stretched as far as the eye could see towards a patch of thick woodland outside the village of Busumbala. Overhead, geese in battle formation flapped their wings lazily as instinct guided them westward towards the gentle Atlantic shoreline . Below the huge baobab tree, Demba a lonely cattle herder, singing sad melodies to himself, kept watch over a herd of cattle that was feeding among the tall, browning buloude grass.

By:Abdoulie
Hi Editor,
If you may let me throw light on your issue dated 15/5/o6. Pa you have to act responsibly when reporting because non of the issues you have talked about in that by election in Kombo East are true. .Do you think that the people of Faraba Banta are that backwarded to be scared of soldiers carrying their duties or the people of Kombo East do not know why they are voting. Faraba has one of the first schools in The Gambia. Your report is bias and very insulting to us. As a result of this I would advice you to report honestly and stop acting idiot. Be careful and know that nothing is permanent
