Lawyer Darboe's Third Term Presidential Dream-Is Darboe Succeeding or Failing As A Politician? Wednesday, September 06, 2006 (975 reads)
Lawyer Darboe's Third Term Presidential Dream-Is Darboe Succeeding or Failing As A Politician? The UDP Is A By Product of the Former PPP Is The APRC using Hendry Gomez to spy at NRP/UDP Alliance?
We Feature Presidential Aspirant Ousainou Darboe!!!
Back
in 1996, Ousainou Darboe declared his intention of running for the
Presidency. He was new in the political platform, but this never
prevented him from recording a significant voter percentage. Darboe
captured slightly over 30 percent of the votes in said elections.
Darboe born in Dobo belongs to the Jula Clan, as he often brags to his
critics. One of his parents was a politician. His father was one of the
political bigwigs during the old days. This in itself don't qualify
him to be one anyway. Darboe was created by the People's Progressive
Party the PPP. His party is consists of former PPP stalwarts and supporters. Most
of the people who followed him were part of the toppled PPP
administration. The PPP was transformed into UDP since they were banned
from active politics. This fact is hardly accepted by UDP followers,
but it is the true state of affairs. When President Jammeh lifted
Decree 89, which banned former politicians, the likes of Omar Amadou
Jallow revived the PPP. Such a move created a shake up in the UDP at
the time.

PANORAMA with 'Bulfaaleh'-Security Threats,September Elections-Jammeh will force to win and then sink. Wednesday, September 06, 2006 (789 reads)
Security threats surrounding the incumbent regime within constant denials. Presently
President Jammeh is endlessly yelling, at the top of his voice thinking
he is the man who can handle his opponents and the West! He is jumping
on the West because he hates election observers. He hates to hear what
bodies like the reporters without borders have already said. He is
also being received and deceived by his advance parties during his
tour. These poor farmers they have already forced but not fooled are
helpless. Therefore these poor ones should not be blamed in the event
they are used as pawns to justify Jammeh's forth coming 'forced'
victory. It is only God who can stop Jammeh from celebrating a stolen
victory. All indicators are showing that the APRC is not "genuinely"
popular but on the other hand they "forcefully" popular.

THE TRUTH SHALL SET HIM FREE
By Musa Camara
It is interesting to see how Mr. Ousainou Darboe in his letter to Hon.
Halifa Sallah on the failed attempt to reunite the opposition parties in The
Gambia tried in desperation not to be overshadowed by the iconic
intellectual and charismatic politician. Unfortunately for Mr. Darboe,
little did he know that he needed not to have bothered himself because The
Gambian people have long since known the difference between the two: that he
Mr. Darboe is incoherent and blithering a politician; and Mr. Sallah
powerful, an orator and astute a political educator.

Horomsi:President Jammeh Plans for Blood Bath Gambia-As He Plans To Kill
Security Forces Told To Shoot And Kill Anybody Making Noise Election Day And Thereafter!!!
VP Njie-Saidy Jammeh's errand sniper..... Daily Observer And Other Local Journalists Censored During The Tour
President
Yahya Jammeh has given orders to the country's security forces to shot
and kill whoever is bent on disturbing the peace in the coming polls.
When the news of such orders broke out few weeks ago, some of us were
shocked by such wild threats to take our people's lives by a blood
thirsty despot. As usual Jammeh means business as he came out in the
open to confirm his orders during his meet the people tour. Jammeh in
an uncompromising tone vows that whoever disturbs the peace will be
dealt with-be it the opposition or his ruling APRC. We know for a fact
that his biggest target is the opposition. A blood bath Gambia can be
averted if the United Nations, election observers, leading democracies
such the US and the UK intervenes on time. Jammeh is using his meet the
people's tour to issue threats and pre-warnings to kill ahead of
elections proper.

Opposition strongholds likely to go to the APRC-As they pump money and Rice in Upper Saloum, Jarra, Baddibous and Basse!!! Wednesday, September 06, 2006 (640 reads)
Opposition strongholds likely to go to the APRC-As they pump money and Rice in Upper Saloum, Jarra, Baddibu's and Basse!!!
APRC Engages in Vote Buying in Jarra,Basse,Saloum and Baddibu-Dr.Manneh, Momodu Picka,Ganji Touray And Yankuba Touray At The Center Of The Graft!!
Freedom Newspaper Profiles Hamat NK Bah
Leader
of the National Reconciliation Party Hamat Bah, is posed to face a
tougher challenge in the coming Parliamentary elections. Bah's
constituency Upper Saloum is being penetrated by the ruling APRC ahead
of time. While Bah and Darboe are busy countering Jammeh from village
to village, some APRC officials led by Yankuba Touray and Ganji Touray
are touring Hamat's locality dishing out cash and food stuffs to
impoverish voters. The target of such voter fraud is not only directed
at Hamat Bah as a person, but his party leader Ousainou Darboe. The new
NRP/UDP Alliance will find it very difficult to win Upper Saloum, the
Baddibous, Jarras and even Basse this time around if urgent actions are
not taken to remedy the ongoing voter fraud taking place in these
regions. It is gathered that President Jammeh himself had assigned
certain APRC militants led by Momodou Picka Jallow to collect voters
cards from perceived opposition supporters who received the APRC cash
and rice inducement deal. The Jammeh errand boys walked into people's
houses at night to hand over rice and cash. While President Jammeh is
trying to claim that he never sent such individuals to collect voters
cards, the people of Upper Saloum, Basse, Baddibous and Jarras told
this paper that the people who came to collect their voters cards told
them that they were sent by the President. Momodou Picka Jallow was at
the center of the said voter fraud, so we learnt.

Beyond Neocolonialism: Alternative Approaches to Understanding Africa's Underdevelopment Tuesday, September 05, 2006 (477 reads)
APER DELIVERED AT MIDWEST GAMBIAN CONFERENCE, CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 2, 2006
Baba Galleh Jallow
Beyond Neocolonialism: Alternative Approaches to Understanding Africa's Underdevelopment
Claude Ake, a prominent
African scholar, makes the interesting proposition that Africa's
problem is not so much that development has failed on the continent as
that it was never really on the agenda. In other words, Ake is arguing
that neither the colonial powers nor the post-colonial African
governments have ever really been concerned with developing the
continent but rather with the accumulation of power and material
benefits. At first glance, Ake's claim would sound rather odd,
considering the fact that development is literally the catch phrase of
all African governments as well as virtually all major actors in the
international community such as the United Nations system, the World
Bank and the IMF. But however odd it sounds, Ake makes a valid and
profound point that should serve as a wake-up call for those of us who
are struggling to make sense of the mess that is today's Africa.

Private Eye With Gambiasara-How the APRC rigged the September 22nd 2006 elections-Facts and figures presented! Monday, September 04, 2006 (809 reads)
By Gambisara
How the APRC rigged the September 22nd 2006 election? Yaya Jammeh to win by a margin of at least 121,478 votes!
Shortly
after the subsequent voter registration exercise in July, the then IEC
boss, Mr. Ndondi Njie amazingly announced that 90,000 voters were
registered during the voter registration exercise. I do not have first
hand knowledge of those registered as I never had a face to face
contact with them. I presumed that a greater number of them are
non-Gambians, mostly members of Yaya Jammeh’s tribe’s men from
Cassamance. This is not a lecture, but would want to refer readers to
this simple statistics as basis of my argument. The total voter
population of the Gambia estimated to be about 500,000. Divide this by
3 candidates gives each at least 166,666. What will Yaya Jammeh and the
APRC gain, is subject of discussion.

Breaking News:Following Worsening Health Conditions, OJ flown to the UK for treatment!! Monday, September 04, 2006 (895 reads)
Following Worsening Health Conditions, OJ flown to the UK for treatment!!
We
report why sick opposition leaders avoid Jammeh's hired Cuban
doctors-The lack of trust and possibility of using such doctors for
vicious activities...
Kebba Jallow Says OJ was responding to Treatment.
Following his worsening health conditions, NADD official Omar Amadou Jallow
was flown to the United Kingdom for further treatment, the Freedom
Newspaper was told during the weekend. Mr.Jallow a former Agriculture
Minister in the first Republic also popular MP for Serre-Kunda was
recently hit by a sudden illness. This comes shortly after the
defection of his close associate, friend and brother Ganji Touray to the
Ruling APRC. Ganji who used to spent most his precious time at OJ'
PIpeLine Home was said to have been induced by the Ruling Party with a
Pajero and a substantial cash amounting to millions to pledge his
allegiance for the Jammeh government. While others blamed OJ'S sickness
to Ganji's sudden change of political heart, observers said Jallow was
becoming old and needs some rest for now. Ganji Touray was OJ's most
trusted aide and was often seen around the leading politician. Source
close to the Jallow family said OJ was recovery to treatment.
Mr.Jallow's absence from the political scene will high sense of relief
to Gambia's President Yahya Jammeh. OJ is said to be one of his arch
critics who is widely listened to by voters during elections campaign
trail. Mr.Jallow is not only charismatic, but also vocal. His absence
will no doubt be felt by his colleagues at NADD. With barely few weeks
to the country's polls, Jallow is currently placed under doctor's
monitoring. It is not yet clear if he will be allowed by his doctor to
engage in active politics at this hour. What is evident is that OJ is
home sick as he oftens said he misses the political race.
