Editor Mbai,
Thanks for working with us. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you and all those are participating in the petition drive. Perhaps those that are criticizing whom I respect very well are not aware that we are running a fund-raising drive for both Ms. Fatou Jaw-Manneh and Mr. Chief Ebrima Manneh jointly. Such a fund-raising drive's letter was sent to all the online media outlets and it has been running for more than a month now. Editor Mbai, you attest to that fact. So far, we collected at least US$180.00.

PANORAMA with "The Green Brigade"-APRC NAMS thieves,cheats-Mamma Kandeh-1st Sample.
As the struggle strengthens its grip President Jammeh will face very stiff resistance-"The Green Brigade" salutes Gambians!Marking the beginning of the new year-2008 the famous Panorama column will be handled by new fighters,” The Green Brigade". Brace up for upfront revelations in days to come. The Jammeh-government will face shock and awe because he has showed the whole world that he does not respect decrees let alone a constitution. Even decrees used as a framework in favor of ruling monarchs or dictators running the affairs of a country through martial laws, have never reserved a portion for the declaration of public holidays, only to name a head of state's son!

Ebrima Kamara Reacts To Michael’s Piece on Dr. Dampha!! Sunday, January 13, 2008 (311 reads)
Ebrima Kamara Reacts To Michael’s Piece on Dr. Dampha!!
“Mr. Scales “goodwill” for Gambia and Africa is not intended to be on Gambia’s or on Africa’s terms but on his terms. The conditions or the needs of Africa, the one presumed to benefit, does not count or taken into consideration, what matters is the “givers” stance and definition of what Africa needs. Africa has nothing to say than to be thankful for whatever she gets. That is why; Mr. Scales is not only defining Dr. Dampha´s duty for him but also advising him not to bite the hand that fed him his knowledge. Watch out Dr. Dampha for your any attempt to redefine your position or the condition of Gambia, Africa is liable to biting the very hand that fed you your abundant knowledge.” Ebrima Kamara writes from Sweden Stockholm. He was reacting to Michael Scales’s on Dr. Dampha’s interview with Journalist M L Drammeh. Below is the full text of Kamara’s letter to the Editor. Please read on..

Teeth Bite: Renmuneh: Who Is DIG Modou Gaye?
“DIG Conspires With Banjul Drug Lords To Ruin Our Youngsters.” Teeth Bite Exposes!
We are not in the business of settling old scores with Public officials. Our primary duty is to inform, educate and entertain. Today, we are compelled to expose the Deputy Inspector General of Police Modou Gaye. Mr. Gaye believes that he is untouchable and can do anything he wants in The Gambia unchecked. Well, you must be disappointed to learn that there are patriotic Gambians watching you at this hour. Your private and public life should not be a secret as long as you continued to be the number two man at the Police. Mr. Gaye should be very grateful to Edward Singhatey and his brother Peter Singhatey. They make him what he is today. Call him ungrateful, a pathological liar, insincere, sneak master, General Tamba’s errand boy, you make no mistake. Gaye is a vicious man full of hate, jealousy, low esteemed and personal vendetta. He cares only about his wellbeing and not that of his fellow countrymen and women.

Breaking News:Kuomintang's Victory in Taiwan Seems Certain to Cheer Investors- Opposition sweeps the polls! Sunday, January 13, 2008 (347 reads)
Kuomintang's Victory in Taiwan
Seems Certain to Cheer Investors
By PERRIS LEE, CHOON SIONG, WEI YI LIM and JASON DEAN
January 13, 2008 8:52 a.m.
The Kuomintang's overwhelming victory in Taiwan's legislative elections brings the island closer to having a government intent on improving ties with China after years of worsening discord that have hampered its economy. The Kuomintang, or Nationalist Party, took 81 of 113 legislative seats in Saturday's vote, a larger-than-expect win that gives the party powerful momentum toward its goal of retaking the presidency in another election in March, after eight years as the opposition. Saturday's results were a staggering blow for soon-to-retire President Chen Shui-bian, who has championed the island's independence and defiantly rejected Beijing's claim that it is part of China's rightful territory. Mr. Chen's Democratic Progressive Party – which had been the largest single party in the legislature – won just 27 seats Saturday. Mr. Chen, who will leave office in May, resigned as DPP chairman to take responsibility for the setback.
The outcome seems certain to cheer investors, who have long complained that antipathy between Taiwan and China under Mr. Chen has constrained Taiwan's stock market and economy. Taiwan's benchmark stock index ended Friday at 8,029.31, about 9% below its level when Mr. Chen first took office in May 2000. Diana Wu, a trader at Capital Securities Corp., predicted the index could test highs of 8,400 or more today. Analysts also predicted the New Taiwan dollar would strengthen.

Breaking News: Gambian Journalists in Dakar Launch online Radio!!!Link: www.radioavg.com. Sunday, January 13, 2008 (846 reads)
-
PANA
A group of Gambian journalists and pro-media freedom bodies in West Africa on Saturday launched Radio Alternative Voice (Radio AVG), an online radio which can be accessed on www.radioavg.com.

Organisers said the launch in Dakar was in response to "very limited media freedom" in their tiny West African country. "We cannot continue to live in a country where divergent views cannot be expressed," said Amie Joof-Cole, a Dakar-based Gambian journalist and coordinator of the project.
"This is like a dream come true! I'm excited about the online radio and I hope it gives more voice to Gambians," he said. "Citizen FM has been closed down physically, but the voice of the people will continue to be heard," Joof-Cole said.
Citizen FM, a popular radio station in the Gambia, has been illegally closed down by the authorities. The new radio will partner some Senegalese private stations, whose signals reach the Gambia, until such time that it starts its own independent live broadcast. This will help reach out to the larger Gambian communities especially those without internet access or facilities.
The Radio AVG project aims to monitor and report on human rights issues in the Gambia, promote dialogue and free exchange of knowledge, among other issues.
The radio project is initiated in partnership with International Media Support (IMS), Network of African Freedom of Expression Organisations (NAFEO), Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) and Network Media Programme of the Open Society Institute (OSI).
Others are Open Society Initiative for West Africa, International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) Africa Regional Office, Foroyaa and Inter Africa Network for Women, Media, Gender Equity and Development (Famedev).

Editorial: Another Coup In The Gambia?
Why The Army Is A Wrong Place For The Mandingka Ethnic Group?
Officers of the men and women of The Gambia Armed Forces-most importantly those belonging to the Mandingka tribe should open their eyes. President Jammeh is posed to jail and kill potential Mandingka officers, be it commissioned or non commissioned officers. From 1994 to date, Mandingka officers account for the greatest number of soldiers to be arrested, killed and in some instances exiled on bogus allegations of coup plot. Just this past week, a coup plot was reportedly uncovered by the NIA. Most of the soldiers arrested were Mandingkas. No Jolla was arrested, leading to speculations that President Jammeh had a special agenda against the Mandingkas. That he wants to make sure that the army becomes a no go area for Mandingkas. That, for Jammeh to rule comfortably, he wants to get rid of long term and short term potential threats in the military.

INTERVIEW WITH BABY MUHAMED JAMMEH-THE WATCHMAN
Watchman: Congratulations on your birth mini Jammeh. How old are you?
Mini Jammeh: I don’t know, a month or two maybe.
Watchman: Mini Jammeh, I hate to sound so obvious but I have been wondering all along, how come you can talk so soon when other all other infants your age just eat and sleep?
Mini Jammeh: Well this shouldn’t surprise you. As you know my Dad has cured AIDS, invented Asthma elixirs and almost wiped out the disease of high blood pressure. He also can make infants accelerate their developmental stages and that’s why I started talking as soon as I was born.
