THE HYPOCRICY OF ‘HALAKE”AND THE GAMBIAN DAILY OBSERVER- Writes Cassandara
I am so surprised when I saw the new Gambian Patriot turning into a pan Africanist.Dida Halake is now talking on behalf of Africa to vilify against the European colonialist. He is now talking about stale news like the adoption of a Malawian boy by Madonna, the Chadian crisis, colonialism, imperialism and the Slave Trade. He thinks he is making any case but unfortunately he is a great novice to the world reality. Many Africans have learnt this lessons in schools and since moved on with the believe that standard procedures are now in place to avoid a recurrence. How can you blame the atrocities in Darfur, Sudan on the West whereby it was the Janjaweed militia who were instilling terror on their own Nationals in the name of tribalism and domestic slavery; How can you squarely blame the slave trade on the Europeans when it was really the Paramount chiefs in Africa that aided and abetted the Traders who didn’t know anything about our geography by then. How can you blame Madonna when David was indeed neglected by his parents and living in an orphanage ,Mr.Halake how can you blame the so called kidnappers when they were surely invited into the country by ordinary Chadians who were made penniless and miserable by their own undemocratic Governments. Or Mr. Halake open your eyes Mr. Halake.

Gambia, The
Country Reports on Human Rights Practices
The Gambia is a multiparty, democratic republic with a population of 1.5 million. In September 2006 President Alhaji Yahya Jammeh was reelected for a third five-year term in an election considered partially free and fair. President Jammeh's party, the Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC), continued to dominate after the National Assembly elections held on January 25, which were considered partially free and fair. In March 2006 a coup attempt was uncovered, and approximately 50 suspects were detained, one of whom remained in detention without charge awaiting trial at year's end. The trial of a second suspect began on December 5 and was ongoing at year's end. While civilian authorities generally maintained effective control of the security forces, there were some instances where security forces acted independently of government authority.

BREAKING NEWS:
Freedom Newspaper Correspondent Set The Records Straight!!!
Wise Man Says Waa Juwara Was Indeed Hired DPS!!
By Wise Man, Freedom Newspaper’s Western Region Chief Correspondent
My attention has been drawn to the baseless, unfounded and “propaganda” deceptive news reports calculated to dispute my story on Lamin Waa Juwara’s appointment as Deputy Permanent Secretary. My sources are unshakable and I stood by my story that Waa Juwara was appointed Deputy Permanent Secretary by the President. I personally saw Lamin Waa Juwara’s appointment letter. Those making the “unsubstantiated allegations” against the Freedom Newspaper should desist from their “hate and malicious” propaganda against Freedom. I am not taking such bogus and unfounded allegations lightly. In view of these developments, I have decided to clear the air.

No Apology For Bajinka's Family, Unless Yahya Bajinka Is Produce Live On GRTS!!
The Freedom Newspaper Management, stood by its story regarding the appointment of Lamin Waa Juwara as Deputy Permanent Secretary. Waa Juwara was indeed hired as DPS. If only he decides to relinquish his appointment, but what is evident though is that he was offered the said job by the President. Credible and unimpeachable sources we talked to said Waa Juwara was indeed lying to the gallery by trying to conceal the truth. The same Waa Juwara few months ago denied cross-carpeting to the APRC. Few months down the line, he was hired to serve as a Committee Member to the Brikama Area Council.
