Authorities in the Gambia have defied a court order, which ordered forthe immediate and unconditional release of MP Dem who was accused alongside with other coup suspects of planning to overthrow the Jammeh administration. MP Dem was acquitted and discharged by a High Court in Banjul, due to what the judge calls lack of compelling evidence to convict the accused. The judge in her ruling said the state charges against Dem "were weak and unreliable."  She said her court cannot rely on such a weak case to send the accused to jail. She consequently ordered for the release of the accused. But since the said ruling, the state has not complied with the court order. The family of Demba Dem told our Correspondent their loved one was yet to be released despite the court order.

NEED TO SET STANDARD AND PRODUCTIVE DEBATES ONLINE!

(By: Jadama Sadibu)

DEDICATED TO ALL MY GAMBIAN ONLINE EDITORS!!!

Gambian online forums offer a great opportunity for Gambians all over the world to interact at the same time in far away places. The forums could serve as a market place of ideas for Gambians all over the globe; a place to dialogue, to debate cogently on public policies, and to come up with innovative and new ideas to shape and direct our country. However, the nature of public discourse taking place on the Gambian online forums has become one of the most hotly debated issues of late.

Sadibou Jadama is suffering from Low esteem-Lamin Drammeh

He fools Gambian girls by promising to bring them to Sweden-Drammeh alleges.

"Observer's Sagarr Mbye and Haddy Badjie of GRTS named."

By Lamin Drammeh, Sweden

Dear Mr. Editor,

Do I hear Sadibou Jadama saying that I should be charged for treason for merely speaking out against him? Is Sadibou Serious for real? It's my humble belief that if there should be any charges to be filed, Sadibou himself  should be charged, instead for legitimizing a undemocratic government in the Gambia. Ranting Sadibou deviated from the gist of my posting. What a clown?  The pot calling the kettle black. Stop it Jadama. Please stop it. He never denied that he works with the NIA. Jadama said his friendship with Suso or the NIA "should be no one's business." Of course, it  is my business.  I don't want the Freedom Newspaper or other online journals be victims of Jadama. He is very vindictive. That I can tell. He also never denied that he was divorced by his wife. Jadama also never denied that he applied for a job at the Observer. Saja Taal is alive to shed light on the story. .

It is not a social propaganda,it is a social fact based on economics and real results of economic activities. The EURO when compared to certain currencies in the world including what the paper calls  the "green notes" or the dollar(US) has performed in an outstanding way so far.
