NADD'S Halifa Sallah Sends NIA'S Harry Sambou to the cleaners-Describing him as a law breaker!!!
“HARRY SAMBOU OF NIA IS A LAW BREAKER” HILIFA SALLAH
By Correspondent Katib I,in Banjul, The Gambia
Halifa
Sallah, the Presidential candidate for the National Alliance for
Democracy and Development (NADD) has indicated that Harry Sambou, the
Director General of the National Intelligence Agency is a lawbreaker,
and is grossly violating the constitution. Addressing
a Press Conference at the NADD headquarters on Wednesday, Mr. Sallah
said that the continuous detention of Buba Sanyang, a militant of NADD
by the NIA is geared towards undermining his campaign and intimidating
his supporters.“I
have the conviction to make this loud and clear that Buba is under
arrest and they are yet to say why he was arrested. The Director
General of NIA has spoken after 72 hours and he claimed Buba is still
lawfully detained. Either the Director General of NIA does not know
what is in the constitution or he prefers to honour it with gross
disregard,” he said.

APRC Manifesto a stolen thought-Post 94 Coup's Vision 2020 caught between good and evil. Saturday, September 02, 2006 (530 reads)
By A Political Analyst. One
of the most important things for me was to wait for the APRC manifesto
as we are heading towards the 2006/2007 Presidential and Parliamentary
elections. Discouraging as our predictions are, there is one thing that
makes me feel so inspired, that is, the fact that APRC is digging its
own grave. President Jammeh did not
only hijack the 2006/2007 he has been successfully hijacking everything
on governance from the 22nd day of July 1994 to date. His most sincere
desire is to see through the future of The Gambia with a
Jammeh-dynasty. The man therefore envisaged everything he is doing now
well before these hard moments we are cruising through came. Yaya
Jammeh then, now Yahya Jammeh saw through the thick layers of betrayal
while getting ready to wash our nation's tearful face with acidic
residue. Morally he has so far succeeded in eroding the honour and
integrity of some of our sons and daughters. On the other side he has
failed flat on the ground because there are those who will never vote
for this decadence even if the sky was to be mixed with the ground.
A tipsy or high President Jammeh in action. A one time weed smoker

Breaking News:President Jammeh's nomination nearly disrupted by mass arrest of NIA officers implicated in Banjinka's escape!! Saturday, September 02, 2006 (817 reads)
Breaking News:President Jammeh's nomination nearly disrupted by mass arrest of NIA officers implicated in Banjinka's escape!! Nuru Secka nabbed in APRC Crowd while dressed in party "ASOPBI" NIA'S Director of Investigations Samba Sowe and Bamba Manneh Behind Bars Again-As Bajinka's escape creates shake up By Staff Writer Another
wave of arrest was effected on nomination day as three big shots of
the feared National Intelligence Agency, NIA recently interdicted for
the escape of army fugitive major Kalipha Banjinka, has been
rearrested, the Freedom Newspaper can authoritatively report. The
arrestees were identified as Nuru Secka, former Director of operations,
Samba Sowe, Head of investigations and Bamba Manneh, also an official
of the NIA'S investigations Department. The men were rounded up on
nomination day and whisked to various police stations across the West
African country. Some of the detainees are currently held at Gunjur,
Tujering and other local police posts. A drama gripped the APRC
nomination as Nuru Secka who was dressed in APRC "ASOPBI" was
confronted by the security forces and later arrested. Nuru's attempts
to please President Jammeh shattered as he was nabbed out of the jubilant
crowd and taken to jail.

PANORAMA with 'Bulfaaleh'-State House 'Kabakel' Party Edu Singhtey,Bajo new dancers. Saturday, September 02, 2006 (688 reads)
President Jammeh is the man of endless parties and jubilations, when Gambians are crying everyday.
It
was another chilly evening of endless dancing. The 'Kabekel' drummers
were at it again. There were other cultural troops from different
ethnic groups but President Jammeh's show is always stolen by the same
'Kabekel' drums and flutes. Personally I like the sound produced by the
Jola 'Kabekel' because it is authentic African rythm. However, what I
dislike is the way our President has hijacked this within a tribal
perspective. President Jammeh uses these 'Kabekel' dancers when on the
shady line of mischief. This is usually geared towards helping the
Casamance fighters. The 'Kabekel' dancers are the same I wrote on while
exposing what they do for Jammeh as so-called cultural Ambassadors.
They are the same people who ran secret errands for Jammeh in
Venezuela,Morocco,Taiwan and Egypt. Some of them are high school or
college graduates from Casamance. They speak good french and basic
English therefore can run errands for President Jammeh with all due
respect. The errands they run for the President are those he may not
want to disclose to his Secretary of State for foreign affairs. Most of
the time they travel with special messages that none would ever expect
near a 'Kabekel' dancer. This is an Idi Amin style. Half-baked
dictators use unexpected methods sometimes.

Ebrima Sankareh-"Expensive Co-incidence!" Friday, September 01, 2006 (690 reads)
By Essa Bokarr SEY.
Dear Editor Mbai,
I
have seen the corrigendum from Mr Ebrima Sankareh. Actually this is why
I entitled this latest piece "Expensive Co-incidence" I was not the
least refering to the Edward Small the historical figure as far as
Gambian history is concerned. Having said this I think the Gambian
female author's explicit versions on our nation's history has also left
a lasting memory in me. Isn't her name Patience? Laugh! I
was simply using a name in a satire co-incidentally Edward's happened
to be one that I like. Certainly I know the author of the national
amthemn as stated on my brother's corrigendum. Part of my gendarmerie
training from 1985-1986 included extensive lessons on the criminal code
and studying the meaning of texts like the national anthemn. These
studies prepared us the intakes to either pass or be dropped.

PANORAMA with 'Bulfaaleh'-President Jammeh's bullet-proof vest-Paranoia nomination day. Friday, September 01, 2006 (988 reads)
President Jammeh's bullet-proof vest. Even
lay men and women who do not know anything about security matters where
whispering about the way the President's chest looked like when he came
to the IEC office. The bullet-proof
vest on President Jammeh's chest was so exposed. It showed how much
Jammeh is paranoid. He was given a tip that things are simply not all
that safe for him these days. This is why he came there trying to show
that he is always prepared. This very tip made Lang Tombong Tamba delve
on the issue of security further down the line. This is why nowadays President Jammeh most of the time drives himself when using the hummer.

PANORAMA with 'Bulfaaleh'-Harry Sambou,Lang Tombong,IGP Sonko-Compromise Credibility of September Elections. Friday, September 01, 2006 (666 reads)
The September Elections and President Jammeh's service chiefs-Impartiality ZERO! The Credibility of the forth coming elections has already been compromised by President Jamme's security chiefs. 'Asobi' and threats! In
Gambian local language 'asobi' means when a group of people dress up in
the same colour and texture. This does not make it an institutional
uniform because people may choose to sow theirs in different styles. It
is a tradition in Gambian politics. If any one Puts on the 'asobi'
bearing the same texture, colour, pictures and logo of a given political
party means the person has chosen to identify him or herself with that
particular party. On the nomination day it was open and clear before
the eyes of every Gambian that Harry Sambou head of the NIA,Lang
Tombong Tamba chief of staff,IGP Sonko head of the police and other
prominent civil servants wore the APRC 'asobi' in broad day light. This
was real and physical evidence showing which party these goons support.
How on earth can Harry Sambou wear this APRC 'asobi' hold a microphone
and then attempt preaching impartiality or other professional methods
to us? Harry Sambou kept on rambling because he was just from the bars
again.

PANORAMA with 'Bulfaaleh'-Casamance turmoil-Death around Jifanga-Tumbul Tamba-last warning! Friday, September 01, 2006 (704 reads)
Death at Jifanga Casamance-Tumbul Tamba last warning! Tumbul
Tamba is one of the men trusted by President Jammeh but he is not
trustworthy. Tumbul Tamba, ever since he started getting closer and
closer to President Jammeh has been so vicious against anyone he
perceives as a possible threat to his special relations with the
so-called Big Man. He started with the Kujabis, then Marcel Badjie, then
Kalifa Bajinka and now his next victim is OC Colley former station
commander at Sibanor Police Station.

CORRIGENDUM ON THE NATIONAL ANTHEM Friday, September 01, 2006 (368 reads)
Dear Editor:
The Gambia National Anthem
I was reading Mr.Sey's poetic prose and found an historical error
and since our children read this paper, I thought it relevant to
draw it to your attention. That said, I wish to note that Edward
Francis Small while he was a rare breed, was not actually the author
of The Gambia National Anthem. The anthem was written by virginia
Julie Howe and adapted (ie composer)by Jeremy Frederick Howe for the
traditional Mandinka song "Foday Kaba Dumbuya".Foday in mandinka
means versed in the Holy Koran. It is therefore, a title and not a
name. For the benefit of those who may not have known,Foday Kaba
Dumbuya is a legendary figure primarily because of his activities in
the Sonike-Marabout wars; a crusade that forcefully converted
animists to muslims. There was another Foday, Foday sillah
affectionately called Kombo Foday because his activities
concentrated in the Kombo areas.
Thank you for the space provided and good luck in the struggle.
Always,
Ebrima G.Sankareh.
Editors note: The author Ebrima G Sankareh, is founding
Editor and Publisher of the popular Raleigh based The Gambia Echo Newspaper
.Mr.Sankareh got a BA in History and Political Science. We want to thank him for the observations made on the said piece.
