Tribute To Deyda Hydara-Micheal Scales Writes From The UK!! Sunday, December 16, 2007 (211 reads)
Dear Mr.Editor,
Violence,is an estate of our human species, that we share with all other creatures.Of all that persists as life, the human is by far the most destructive.Yet within our capacity, their exists an ability for compassion, logic and forgiveness. But above all these stands our ability to communicate. When violence is accompanied by silence, our world becomes torn apart.Fear and mistrust abounds, and our social order decends into chaos.Violence transends borders and relationships. It is more infectious than the deadliest virus.Whether in the home or the community,it destroys faster than the most ferocious inferno. In the midst of violence, our world becomes desperate and empty.Life is challenged for its worth and inspiration to be replaced by survival. The survival of the fittest is a morality for the treacherous. The civilised promote protection for the innocent victims of its anger.

PS Lamin Sanneh's Death Shocks Europeans!! Friday, December 14, 2007 (764 reads)
By A Concerned European
Dear Sir,
I am a "Toubab" (or is it Twobob?) from The Netherlands. Since my first visit in 2004 Gambia has capturedmy heart. I am very sorry to see what is happening in The Gambia, the change to worse since 2004 is very visible for anybody who wants to see.
Nevertheless I try to visit your country as often as I can because the love of my wife (although she is not Gambian) lives there and I am lucky to know some good hearted Gambians and who I regard as my family.
I have registered for your website but have not received any feedback, so I still cannot log in. Please let me know what is going on!
I was very sad when I heard the terrible news on Mr. Lamin Sanneh who I worked with for some time when I came to The Gambia on behalf of my employer. A very decent man, very intelligent and a big heart for his country. I also was with him during a visit of his department to The Netherlands. We talked a lot and he was so full of desire to help his country and its people. Many people in The Netherlands who knew him were shocked when they heard the news!
Keep up the good work!

Editorial: A Sad Day For Taiwan- Is Jammeh Trying To Woe Main Land China?
……Gambia attaches more importance to China’s Goods than Taiwanese. NAWEC Generators Purchased From Main Land China.
Authorities in Taiwan should be weary of Gambia’s President Yahya Jammeh. Jammeh never keeps his promise and his claim that the Gambia will never betray Taiwan was just a mere empty rhetoric calculated to deceive the Islanders. Jammeh survives on betrayal and lies. He is not a man of words. Jammeh uses nations like Taiwan to pursue his unfinished “get rich or die” slogan. Taiwanese should be cautious in the way and manner it patronizes Africa’s most corrupt leader.

Finance Minister Balla Gaye Should Resign Now!!
By Fanta Jallo
We Gambians in this part of the world relied heavily on your on-line newspaper to monitor events back home. I was referred to it by a friend two months ago and since then I felt much closer with developments in our country. If the information that I am getting is right, the Gambia today is completely different from the one I used to live where self-pride and all the freedoms that God gave to mankind were taking for granted. Our fathers and fore-fathers were never described as sycophants.
