Gambia: Jammeh Is The Flag Bearer For The APRC In The 2016 Polls!

The Alliance, Patriotic, Reorientation and Construction (APRC) party has unanimously nominated the country’s De Facto dictator Yahya Jammeh, as the party’s flagbearer in Gambia’s 2016, Presidential elections, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. The decision was reached today at an APRC party Congress held in Kanilai, the dictator Jammeh’s home villa. Jammeh was nominated without any opposition from the party. Party delegates across the country converged in Kanilai to formalize the nomination of Yahya Jammeh as their flagbearer in the upcoming elections.

Yahya Jammeh has been in power for the past twenty one years. He came to power through a coup in July of 1994. He overthrew the thirty years PPP rule, headed by former Gambian President Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara.

Gambians are going to the polls on December, 2, 2016, to elect a new President. Jammeh’s fifth term bid as a prospective President for The Gambia, has been widely criticized. His appalling leadership qualities, gross rights record,  collapsed economy and infrastuture is a cause for concern.

The opposition PDOIS, has also nominated Sociologist, and proflic Writer Halifa Sallah, as their party flagbearer in the coming elections. The opposition United Democratic Party (UDP) is yet to come up with potential candidate to represent their party in the coming elections.
