As the end is near for the Jammeh regime, the detained Petroleum Ministry officials have been charged including Sira Wally Ndow Njie, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. Ten officials have been charged overall, according to competent sources. The former officials have been charged with economic crime. If convicted, they risked serving nothing less than ten years in prison.
The former Petroleum Minister Sira Wally Ndow Njie, was a close buddy of the Kanilai dictator Yahya Jammeh. It appears that Jammeh is determined to throw her under the bus. High profile confidential dealings have transpired between the two over the years.
Meanwhile, a source who reached us said: “I have reliable information about the GNPC fuel scandal which I want you to follow up. This is battle of two Oil Barons in the country. Edi Jobe is the one who let the cat out of the bag. He resigned as board Chairman when he fell out with Momodou Badgie, the MD, on the procurement of fuel.”
“You see he wanted the huge fuel orders be split between his new oil company (ATLAS) and GNPC. When he cannot get his way he resigned. But before that he became aware that GNPC instead of placing their orders directly a with the suppliers were actually using a middle man (broker) where all the orders would pass; then this individual will then pay them huge monies in US Dollars for the board to share. Momodou Badgie would do the distribution in dollars. The amounts are always in millions of dollars. I will give you more on this,” our source added.
The Kanilai monster is presiding over a bankrupt state. Jammeh has resorted to blaming his former trusted financial foot soldiers in the midst of a national economic crisis.
