The embattled former Petroleum Minister Sirah Walley Ndow Njie, has been hospitalized, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. Ms. Ndow Njie, who was held at the NIA, for over a month, amid allegations of perpetrating economic crime and abuse of office, has been admitted at the Francis Small Teaching Hospital in Banjul. Her health condition deteriorated last night. Hence, she was rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
The former Petroleum Minister’s health condition becomes public knowledge, when her lawyer Ida Drammeh, informed the Special Criminal Court that her client’s sugar level was way too high, and that Sirah was in desperate need of medical treatment. Lawyer Drammeh also informed the court that attempts for Sirah to be treated falls into deaf ears, as Prison authorities wouldn’t avail her access to a doctor.
Sirah Walley Ndow Njie, was in Jammeh’s good books until recently, when the dictator accuses her of abdication of duties and economic crime. She and her co accused persons have been accused of causing the regime to suffer an economic loss of $12 million dollars after Sirah and co reportedly Okayed a petroleum deal with a Dubai based company.
As we file this story, Sirah Walley’s health doesn’t look good. Doctors are working tirelessly to help her recover from her ailment.
In another development, it has been gathered that Yahya Jammeh has donated ten luxurious cars to the judges of the High Court. Sources said the dictator is apparently trying to buy off the judges so that they can help him send more Gambians to jail ahead of the elections. The judge, who jailed Darboe, Justice Dada, was among the beneficiaries of Jammeh’s so called car gift.
