Former UDP Leader Lawyer Ousainou Darboe, this evening, surprisingly appeared in the Court of Appeal with 19 executive members of the main opposition UDP, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. Mr. Darboe was wearing blue caftan with grey hair. He did not shave his hair.
His lawyer Antouman Gaye, informed the court that the 20 appellants including Darboe have filed the motion seeking to consolidate the individual appeals and served the Director of Public Prosecution Sade Barkun. They are appealing against their sentences before the Court of Appeal.
The DDP acknowledged receipt of the motion.
Darboe and his co convicts were jailed on unlawful assembly related charges. They have since been serving time in prison.
The case has been adjourned to December 5th 2016, proof of service and ordering of brief.
There was no crowd because they were brought to the court secretly.
