As time is running out for the outgoing Gambian dictator Yahya Jammeh, a rather embarrassing episode occurred in Banjul yesterday, as Jammeh’s former Finance Minister, and Ambassador to Morocco, Kebba Satou Touray, rejected a job offer accorded to him by the globally rejected Kanilai monster, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. Mr. Touray, was appointed Gambian Ambassador to China, but he turned down the appointment. He cited personal reasons for refusing to accept Jammeh’s job offer.
Mr. Touray, is a career technocrat. He was said to have politely turned down Jammeh’s job offer.
In another development, dozens of Gambians have been appointed by Jammeh to fill in the vacant positions in the foreign service. These were positions earlier occupied by former diplomats, who recently got fired by the dictator, after advising him to step down.
