Senegalese security agents have arrested the Chief photographer of the former Gambian dictator Yahya Jammeh, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. Ebou Tarou Njie, who was part of the Jammeh entourage to Guinea Conakry, was trying to sneak into the country, and he got nabbed in the process. Mr. Njie, was arrested at the Senegalese border post Karang, by the combined security operations launched by the two sister countries.
Mr. Njie, who is a former Point Newspaper and Daily Observer photographer, was stranded in Guinea, together with a dozen of former Jammeh enablers, said our source. The source added that the group which went with Jammeh to Conakry, are said to be stranded there and some have find their way back home.
Mr. Ebou Njie, is helping the Senegalese security agents with their investigations. He still detained. There is no word as to when he would be released from custody.
Mr. Njie, was a close associate of the late slain Point Newspaper Founding Editor and Proprietor Deyda Hydara. He later took up employment with the pro-government Newspaper, the Daily Observer, before being hired by the Kanilai monster Yahya Jammeh to serve as his photographer.
Mr. Njie is privy to a lot of state secrets. This was the guy, who covered Jammeh’s functions in Kanilai and at the State House in Banjul. Perhaps, he is going to be a useful witness in this post Jammeh era transition period.
In another development, four bodyguards attached to the former First Lady Zienab Souma Jammeh, have been arrested by Senegalese security agents. The men are being interviewed at this hour. They were trying to flee the country, when they got arrested.
Also arrested by the Senegalese security agents is Borra Colley, the former Kanilai Camp Commander and Prison boss. Mr. Colley is also under custody.
Meanwhile, two leading members of Yahya Jammeh’s assassin team Sanna Manjang and Sulayman Sambou are on the run. The duos were last seen in Guinea Bissau. They are trying to migrate to Europe, through the back way sojourn to Libya.
