Th alleged came in the wake of the victory celebrations of the UDP elected candidate Alhagie S Darboe, who defeated Mr. Jarju during the race. Some of the jubilant UDP supporters were allegedly venting abuse words when they got close to Jarju’s home, sources said. Mr. Jarju was at the time addressing his supporters at his home. He asked them to remain calm and accept the verdict of the people.
“The continuous provocation prompted Mr Jarju, who was armed with a stick to go the street and attempted to disperse the UDP supporters,” said our source.
