President Adama Barrow met with his Sierra Leonean counterpart Ernest Bai Koroma yesterday at his State House in Freetown. The Gambian leader, been accompanied by a sizable entourage. He is on a tour of West Africa, to thank ECOWAS countries, who helped to bailout the Gambia during the month long political impasse. Former Gambian dictator Yahya Jammeh refused to step down from power in the aftermath of the December 1st election, in which he lost to Adama Barrow.

Mr. Barrow is travelling with his Foreign Minister Ousainou Darboe. He is expected to proceed to Liberia, and then Ghana.

The trip is geared towards strengthening Gambia’s bilateral ties with the sub-region.

Barrow’s presidency gave birth to Gambia’s new political freedom. Although, the country is far from recovering from the economic meltdown left behind by Jammeh.
