The President, H. E. Adama Barrow, after consultation with the Minister of Justice and the Public Services Commission, has appointed Dr. Baba Galleh Jallow as the Executive Secretary of the Truth Reconciliation and Reparations Commission.
Dr Baba Galleh holds a Ph. D degree in African History from the University of California at Davis, a Master’s degree in Liberal Studies from Rutgers University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science from the University of Sierra Leone.
Prior to his appointment Dr Baba Galleh Jallow served as Assistant Professor, Department of History at La Salle University in the United States of America.
Many Gambians would remember him as an Editor in Chief of ‘The Observer’ newspaper and a co-founder of the ‘Independent’ newspaper.
His appointment takes effect from 1st day of February, 2018.
