Elhajj Mustapha Fye, AKA Alikalgi, has been appointed Goodwill Ambassador by President Adama Barrow. Fye’s Diplomatic appointment came into effect on November 5th 2018. Fye’s job includes: negotiating projects on behalf of the government and selling the image of the government in Europe and elsewhere around the world. “The Government of The Republic of The Gambia under the Authority of His Excellency the President of the Republic of The Gambia hereby appoints and confers the position of Goodwill Ambassador on Mr. Elhajj Mustapha Fye Bijilo, The Gambia with effect from 5th November 2018. By virtue of this appointment, Ambassador Fye will hold discussions and carry out negotiations with other third parties on behalf of the Republic of The Gambia and Executive other assignment approved by the Government of the Republic of The Gambia. In the discharge of his duties, Ambassador Faye is accorded full Diplomatic Status,” a letter of appointment signed by Hon. James F.P Gomez, Minister of Fisheries, Water Resources and National Assembly Matters overseeing Minister of Foreign Affairs International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad.

Mr. Fye has also been issued with Diplomatic Passport by The Gambian government. He is now an official of The Gambian government.

A delighted Mr. Fye, has thanked President Barrow and his administration for availing him with the opportunity to serve his government. He called on Gambians to rally support behind President Barrow’s government. He told Freedom Newspaper that he is exceedingly happy about his new assignment to serve his country, under the capacity of an Ambassador.

In another development, Mr. Fye’s radio license application has been approved by the government. He is now cleared to operate a radio station in The Gambia.
