The death of Lamin Camara, a brother to Fatu Camara of the Fatu network, has been announced. Mr. Camara died this morning in Atlanta, Georgia. He was in the country to attend the naming ceremony of his brother’s wife, when he met his untimely demise.
Lamin Camara was the elder brother of Ebou Camara, a former US Army Captain. Ebou’s wife got a baby few weeks ago. Lamin flew from Sweden to attend the naming ceremony, which had been scheduled for tomorrow Saturday. Unfortunately, he never lived to witness it. He died while in Atlanta.
Mr. Camara was a pacemaker carrier prior to his death. He was married and blessed with kids.
May God reserve place for him in heaven. Our condolences to the Camara, M’Bai, and Singhateh family.
Our Editor had earlier contacted Ebou Camara to extend his condolences to the family. Camara informed him that Lamin died in the early hours of Friday. He says Camara suddenly died while in Atlanta with the family.
Fatou Camara was contacted but someone picked up her phone. She was busy on the other line, I was told. She left Florida today, and is heading to Atlanta to meet the family.
Editors note: Our own Seedy Ceesay is the one standing on the right while interviewing Lamin Camara during Gambia’s liberation struggle.
