The Ombudsman has ordered for the reinstatement of Omar T Camara, an Immigration officer, who was said to have been unlawfully terminated by the former DG of Immigration Buba Zil Sanyang, FREEDOM NEWSPAPER CAN REVEAL. Camara had challenged his firing by filing a complaint with the Ombudsman. The Ombudsman has ruled in Camara’s favor.
Camara’s firing, followed his demotion from the rank of C/ASI to the rank of an Inspector. He was also transferred to Bansang. He protested against his demotion and subsequent transfer to Bansang.
Dissatisfied with DG Sanyang’s move, he filed a complaint with the Ombudsman. The Ombudsman had ordered for his reinstatement. The relevant authorities have been placed on notice about the Ombudsman’s ruling.
OT Camara has since resumed duties at the Immigration Department, sources familiar with the story have told this medium. The Ombudsman report also indicated that DG Sanyang had failed to follow the relevant service procedures before firing Camara.
