JOURNALIST ALAGI YORRO JALLOW FACT CHECK TRRC WITNESS MADI CEESAY’S TESTIMONY

1181

Fatoumatta: Here below is email communication between me and Sam Sarr about the untold story missing at the TRR hearing today. Setting the records. As co-proprietor of the Independent newspaper I did provided emotional, financial support, legal fees and medical care through Dr. Sheriff Ceesay of Kololo clinic while I was in exiled. Here is my email correspondence between me and Mr. Sam Sarr of Foroyaa newspaper whom I tasked to provide a lawyer to secure the release of Madi Ceesay, Musa Saidykhan and Lamin Fatty. Lawyer Lamin Jobarteh was hired to represent them. I hope Lamin Fatty will inform the TRRC during his testimony.

Yorro,

Lawyer Lamin Jobarteh has agreed to apply for bail for Madi Ceesay and others. He is asking for D15, 000. A deposit should be paid before filing and the balance before appearance in court.

He said we have to act fast because he is travelling on Thursday. I have sent a message to the media fund for consideration, but time is of the essence. You may call me for a discussion.

Sam

Dear Yorro,

The sum of $6000 that you sent has been received. Lamin Fatty is still in custody, but indications are that he may be released soon. Madi and Musa are to report again tomorrow. Based on the outcome of their visit they will advise me what to do. I have just asked the lawyer to be on the alert.

It seems that the machine may be installed this week. I have managed to secure an 18.75 KVA generator which we will be using till we secure a meter. Construction of a generator house and other construction works to make the press house secure will resume tomorrow. Wiring is to commence immediately after this. This will be followed by the installation of all equipment.

Did you succeed in raising any funds?

Greetings,
Sam
