Kejau Touray has defected from the opposition PDOIS party to join the United Democratic Party (UDP), Freedom Newspaper can report. UDP supporters online are hailing Kejau’s move. Touray has joined the UDP Norway Chapter.
This followed, a birthday wishes message sent out to Balla Jahumpa, a former Jammeh Finance Minister by Kexx Sanneh, of the PDOIS party. Sanneh’s message doesn’t go down well with Kejau. Touray in a Facebook posting lambasted Kexx for wishing Jahumpa a happy birthday. He even threatened to quit from he PDOIS.
The likes of Modou Nyang, a PDOS supporter based in New York has asked Mr. Sanneh to remain focused and avoid Kejau. Nyang says in a Facebook posting that Touray was finding ways and means of leaving the party. Hence, he warned Kexx not to fall for the bait.
“Hey Kexx, ignore that fool. He is looking for an opportunity to quit and have someone to blame for it. Every right-thinking person knows that sharing your opinion have nothing to do with their policy of an organization you identify with,” Nyang wrote.
“Comrade Kexx , thank you very much once again for wishing me a happy birthday. Much appreciated. The Holy Bible says , ” The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness and the end of his talk is evil madness.” Ecclesiastes 10 : 13.” Balla Jahumpa also remarked.
Gambia’s political discourse is becoming uncivil. Kexx’s move to wish Balla Jahumpa, a happy birthday, could not be stomached by the former opponents of dictator Jammeh.
“My dear Kexx Sanneh, I love you for the democrat you are but when I saw your post about him, I ran like hell because I didn’t want to disrespect you. Anyone who KNOWINGLY aided and abetted Jammeh, deserves ABSOLUTELY NO praises from me! But like I said, I know how beautiful your heart is and you see the best in everyone. Kejau, you should not call your PDOIS brother a SOB though because I know how much you revere women!!! Please take it down my brother,” Tukulor Sey also remarked.
Meanwhile, the UDP supporters are hailing Kajau for defecting from the PDOIS.
“Breaking News. Please join me to welcome Mr.Kejaw Touray of Norway to United Democratic Party. Mr Touray you are Welcome,” Ebrima Dibba, a former Gambian Diplomat and UDP member wrote on his Facebook timeline.
