Two staffers of the University of The Gambia have been robbed by people claiming to be protesters around the Senegambia strip joint. Ousman Fatty, a Senior UTG Finance Officer and Ebrima Dampha, a UTG lecturer, were forced to surrender their cellular phones and bank cards by men claiming to be protesters.
Below is a Facebook posting made by Mr. Dampha about his experiences with the alleged robbers.
Don’t drive along the Senegambia highway.
On our way home from paying condolences to the family of the late Kebba Secka, Myself and Mr fatty, senior finance officer of the UTG were attacked by group of protesters on the Senegambia highway. They manage to forcefully collect our phones (my phone and ATM card, and 2 of Mr Fatty’s phone). These thieves are using the name of protest to burn tires on the highway, attack people, rob people and climb on peoples’ car.
I advised all the drivers to avoid using the Senegambia highway.
