Please be informed that the ASB clinic at Dippa Kunda (in the Gambia) has been closed down barely three days ago. All patients within their jurisdiction have been transferred to other facilities: such as Kanifing General Hospital etc.
The most recent circumstance that triggered the close down (I am told) was a result of a maternal death that occur after a pregnant woman was operated on. However, ASB clinic has a track history of gross professional misconduct; medical malpractice; unethical practice; bad treatment; deliberate late referrals etc etc. I am aware, they have been warned on several occasions in the past and there was no progress and authorities from the Ministry of Health perhaps in collaboration with the Medical and Dental Council of the Gambia, were forced to close down the facility.
Please use your journalistic curiosity and investigations to get more info on the story and publish for the benefit of the Gambian people.
I salute your indispensable and unrelenting service to the Gambian people.
