A prosecution witness testifying in the high-profile murder case against the former Junta Local Government Minister on Monday told the High Court in Banjul that Yankuba Touray “did not kill Ousman Koro Ceesay,” the former Finance Minister. Ensa Mendy, a former orderly to the accused former Junta Council member, made the revelations today. He was being cross examined by Touray’s lawyer Abdoulie Sissoho.
Mendy testified that he was ordered to go on patrol on the day of Koro’s murder. It was upon his return that he met Yankuba’s wife and family at their Kotu home.
Mendy adduced in evidence that he never saw the deceased Koro Ceesay at Yankuba’s home. He also said he never witnessed or seen the accused Yankuba Touray having any conversation with Koro Ceesay.
Trial resumes on November 19th.
Justice Ebrima Jaiteh presided over the case.
