Haddim Gai, the Banjul man, who was contracted to construct the Banjul roads and sewage system is going to be paid ten million dollars ($10 million) today by the corrupt Barrow government, Freedom Newspaper can reveal. Gai was awarded the thirty-five million dollars contract without any formal tender process. The government claimed that Gai was going to pre-finance the road and sewage project.
It has been gathered that Gai had completed one phase of the road project and government was supposed to pay him. Works Minister Bai Lamin Jobe, Adama Barrow, and the Finance Minister Mamburay Njie coordinated amongst themselves to finalize the un-tendered project.
Gai is an in-law to Alhagie Ousman Ceesay, President Barrow’s Chief Protocol Officer. Ceesay’s biological sister is married to Haddim Gai.
