The three years Jotna has been scheduled for December 16th 2019, Freedom Newspaper can reveal. The organizers of the protest want to march from the Westfield junction to the State House on December 16th to present their petition to President Adama Barrow. Among their demands include: Barrow respecting the three years transitional rule he (Barrow) and his coalition partners had agreed upon; secondly, they also want Barrow to consider stepping down from power; failure of which, they expect Barrow to give convincing reasons as to why he shouldn’t relinquish power.
According to sources close to the three years jotna movement, the proposed protest march is going to take place on December 16 if Barrow fails to meet their demands spelt out.
“Preparations are in high gears for the December 16th protest. The movement had already applied for a permit from the police. Nothing is going to stop the protest,” said one of our sources.
President Barrow had no intension of stepping down from power anytime soon. He says he had been voted to remain in power until 2021. Hence, he vowed that he wouldn’t allow anyone to force him to leave office.
