The Deputy Lead Counsel at the TRRC Horaja Balla Gaye has resigned. Ms. Gaye and her husband Alagie Saidy Barrow have both resigned from the TRRC. Mrs. Gaye’s one-year contract with the TRRC expires in December. She and Alhagie Saidy Barrow signed for one-year contractual employment agreement with the TRRC.
It has been gathered that Horaja Balla Gaye is going to take up an employment at the International Criminal court in the Hague. As such, she has decided to end her employment with the TRRC.
Essa Jallow, the TRRC media officer was contacted for comment. Jallow said he was on tour and had just arrived at his traveled location. He said he heard about the resignations at the TRRC, but he was not in the position to give an official statement at this time. According to Jallow, most of the hired TRRC staffers had signed for a one year employment agreement with the TRRC including himself. He said if he (Jallow) chooses to resign, he could have resigned this month, but he is still working for the Commission.
