The UDP leader Ousainou Darboe is a wounded angry lion. He is increasingly becoming intolerant. His yesterday’s meeting with his supporters at his Pipeline home had exposed Darboe’s anger issues. The old man is clearly telegraphing his true colors. He is not a democrat as he falsely claimed. A true democrat would not reduce himself as a national crybaby like Mr. Darboe.

Darboe should take charge of his party and refused to be micromanaged by the recent new members of the United Democratic Party. If he is not mindful, he would soon loose the limited credibility he has.

In the first place, it was childish for Darboe to entertain this foolish notion that his supporters should throng his home to register their anger at MP Fatoumatta Jawara’s bashing remarks against their leader. Darboe ought to have declined such an audience. He has better issues to address than picking a political beef with Fatoumatta Jawara.

In our view, Ousainou Darboe is aging. His recent behavior doesn’t speak well for a man yearning to rule The Gambia one day.

It is only in The Gambia that an opposition leader, would be criticized, and his supporters would demand from him to address a procession. This clearly shows the lack of tolerance in the UDP.

Darboe should consider reorganizing his fragmented political party. Failure of which, he risked losing supporters. Gambians are not interested in politics of crocodile tears. Grow up the UDP leadership.

MP Fatoumatta Jawara is entitle to her opinion despite the inappropriateness of her statements. If the UDP leadership cannot accommodate an opinion, what is the guarantee that they would rule The Gambia democratically?

It was also embarrassing to hear Darboe threatening his relative Siaka Jatta. Jatta’s crime, according to Darboe, was his move to cheer and clap for Fatoumatta Jawara.

Darboe’s wasn’t happy that his own relative was in support of Fatoumatta’s conduct. He even went as far as disowning Mr. Jatta. He said he was determined to destroy Jatta any chance he got. He similarly extended an invitation to the Presidential Adviser Jatta to equally work on destroying him. He used the curse B word in his speech to settle scores with Jatta.

Gambia, Ousainou Darboe is an immature and temperamental opposition leader. He is also a dictator in the making. A good leader should be forgiving and tolerant.

Wake up Gambia! If Darboe can threaten his own loved one, what is the guarantee that he is going to spare his critics when he becomes Gambian President? Your guess is as good as mine. Be forewarned! We rest our case.
