Condolence Message from AU Commission Chairperson
His Excellency, President Adama Barrow has received message of condolence and solidarity from the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, His Excellency Moussa Faki Mahamat. The message touched on the death of 62 Gambian nationals that occurred last Wednesday in the Mediterranean coast.
Chairperson Faki Mahamat said he was “deeply saddened by the tragic deaths” and extended sincere condolences to the President and The Gambian nation as a whole. He also wish to convey the compassion of the African Union to the bereaved families of this tragedy.
Congratulatory Message to President Kenyatta
Meanwhile, President Barrow conveyed “warmest congratulations” to his Kenyan counterpart, His Excellency, Uhuru Kenyatta, on the occasion of the 46th Anniversary of the Jamhuri Day of the Republic of Kenya.
“I assure Your Excellency, my personal commitment and that of my government to continue deepening the friendship, collaboration and partnerships for the happiness and prosperity of the peoples of The Gambia and Kenya,” the message reads.
Gambian Ambassador Presents Credentials to Turkish President
In a separate engage, The Gambia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Turkey, Mr Landing Kinteh, on the 29th November 2019 presented his Letter of Credence to His Excellency, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the President of the Republic Turkey.
Ambassador Kinteh conveyed greetings and best wishes from His Excellency, President Adama Barrow to his Turkish counterpart. The Gambian leader expressed delight over the state of bilateral relations and economic cooperation between the two countries, and pledged unremitting efforts to augment these relations to new heights.
