As the three years jotna group are bracing up for their Sunday protest march, the leader of the United Democratic Party Ousainou Darboe is heading out to the provinces, Freedom Newspaper can reveal. Darboe was spotted in the traffic heading out to the countryside. He is apparently leaving town for the upcountry.
Darboe’s UDP supporters formed the majority in the upcoming protest march. The protest leaders are mainly UDP supporters.
“Darboe doesn’t want the protest to find him in town. He is spending the weekend in the upcountry,” said a source who reached us.
“He is avoiding the jurisdiction of the protest action. This could be another legal excuse to exonerate himself from complicity,” said one observer.
It would be recalled that Darboe was also out of town during the December 2016 protest march. He traveled to Dakar, Senegal. He returned home shortly after the protest march.
