Forty Gambian security officers, who were sent on VIP protection training to Qatar are expected at arrive at the Banjul International airport in the next one hour, Freedom Newspaper has been reliably informed by airport security officers stationed at the airport. The officers are mainly from the police, army and the Immigration Department. They were sent to Qatar for VIP training, as part of the OIC upcoming scheduled to take place in Banjul.
It is not clear if the officers would be quarantined upon arrival. Sources at the airport have confirmed their flight manifest details to this medium.
Meanwhile, there was a problem at the airport today. Passengers from Europe had refused to be quarantined as advised by the Health Ministry. They had a showdown with the airport security. The passengers subsequently walked away and proceeded to their respective homes.
