The government spokesperson Ebrima G Sankareh was recently taken ill. He has been missing from the public view for some time now, sources told the Freedom Newspaper. He became ill during Barrow’s recent visit to Basse to inspect the burnt market.
Sankareh was said to have complained about fever and cold when Barrow’s convoy reached Bansang. He was reportedly coughing, sources said. He visited the Bansang hospital, where he was seen by doctors. He had to cut his trip short and returned to Banjul after been seen by medical workers.
The Government spokesman is said to be responding to treatment.
Its been while since Sankareh addressed the public on government related issues. Sources familiar with the story said Sankareh had suffered some medical issues during Barrow’s recent upcountry tour.
