Nine people have been arrested in Sukuta, following an opposition to the demolition some structures in the locality, Freedom Newspaper can authoritatively report. Armed police Intervention officers had a confrontation with the community in Sukuta, which had resulted in the arrest of the nine people.
An outraged Sukuta community had resisted the demolition exercise. Some community members had even threatened to burn down the house of the Physical Planning Director.
PIU officers have been firing teargas to the resisting community. Police say the arrested community members are currently helping them in their investigations.
