GAMBIA: BREAKING NEWS: STATE GUARD SOLDIER, ACCUSED OF DRUG POSSESSION AND TRAFFICKING FIRED!

Army Lance Corporal Nuha Conteh has been dismissed from The Gambia Armed Forces with immediate effect, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. Conteh received his firing orders on Tuesday. Conteh was sacked on drug related possession and trafficking charges. He was an armorer at the State Guard prior to his firing. This was soldier, who was accused of opening fire at the Kalagi police, after he was busted with some packs of marijuana.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Conteh’s fate was decided by his commander Colonel Sait Njie. On Tuesday, he was found guilty as charged by the army, hence he was dismissed. His drug case has been referred to the National Drug Enforcement Agency.

State Guard Military Police Officer Staff Sergeant Yaya Sowe handed Nuha Conteh to the antinarcotic unit for him to be prosecuted. Nuha’s case is now with the NDEA.

Nuha Conteh is a native of Brikamaba. He was enrolled into the army in 2010. He was part of intake 30.

In another development, army private Samba Kandeh’s stolen pistol case would be heard by the army board on Wednesday at the Officers mess in Kotu. Kandeh is going to be escorted to the Officers mess to face the board. The board is consist of the following officers:

Major Bubabarr Bah, alias Vadam,

Major Tamba, acting DMI, alias Space

Major Abdoulie Jobe

Lt. Colonel Kuluto Manneh

Captain Lie Saine

The adjutant of the Fajara barracks Captain Baldeh has been tasked to facilitate the transportation of Samba Kandeh to the GAF Officers mess in Kotu.

Also, detained at the Fajara barracks is Lance Corporal Mayara Sarr of the military police. Sarr was part of CDS Drammeh’s escort team prior to his arrest. He has been accused of allowing a civilian to use his pistol.
