The National Youth Council (NYC) has a vacant position of an Executive Director (President), as the current man, leading that institution has been fired, Freedom Newspaper can reveal. Lamin Darboe received his marching orders on Wednesday. No reason was given for his removal.
The Barrow regime has been scouting for Lamin Darboe’s replacement in recent weeks. Reports have it that the administration wants a national youth leader, who could help the government to fortify and consolidate its national political support base.
Unconfirmed sources said Darboe is going to be replaced by Seedy Njie, a strong supporter of President Barrow’s rule.
