One of the accused Barra Access Bank managers has fulfilled his bail conditions and has henceforth been released, Freedom Newspaper can report. Sarjo Corr has been released on bail. Corr was charged together with his colleague Momodou Juldeh Jallow of stealing over D17 million dalasis from the Barra Access Bank branch.
The accused persons have been slammed with two count charges: Conspiracy and stealing by clerk or servant. They have pleaded not guilty to the charges.
It would be recalled that in delivering his ruling, magistrate Ebou Sowe ruled that the following bail conditions must be fulfilled before Sarjo Corr would be released from custody: One, Corr, must provide five properties located in the North Bank region, and two Gambian sureties. His bail bond has been set at D12 million dalasis.
Corr has met the above mentioned condition, per sources reaching us.
For the second accused person Momodou Juldeh Jallow, the magistrate has ordered Jallow to produce two title deeds located in the Greater Banjul Area and two sureties. Jallow’s bail was also set for D12 million dalasis.
Both Corr and Jallow were also ordered to surrender their traveling documents to the court. They have been restricted from traveling beyond the North Bank Region and the Greater Banjul Area.
