A Kiang UDP supporter has been arrested for chopping a Kwinella father with cutlass after assaulting Momodou Bah’s pregnant wife and son, Freedom Newspaper can reveal. Bakary Sanyang wasn’t happy that Mr. Bah’s son had chanted pro-Barrow sentiments during Barrow’s visit to the village to inaugurate an electricity project.
When Momodou’s wife confronted Mr. Sanyang over the beating of her son, she was also assaulted by Sanyang. She was eight pregnant at the time of the time of her assaulting.
Her husband, who was at President Barrow’s meeting in Kwinella, later showed up to come to the rescue of his family. He was also assaulted by the UDP supporter Bakary Sanyang.
Sanyang had allegedly chopped him with a cutlass on his forehead and hand. Both Bah and his wife were hospitalized.
Bakary Sanyang was apprehended by President Barrow’s ECOMIG security agents and handed to the Kwinella police station.
