Response to Samsudeen Sarr’s article regarding Tamsir Jassey’s testimony at TRRC “The role of a Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy”
Happy New Year to everyone and hope Year 2021 brings a lot of comfort, good health and prosperity around the globe. As we all know, Year 2020 was unprecedented for all, full of challenges but by the grace of Almighty some of us lived through it. We must also acknowledged that we lost so many lives due to global pandemic. We join and pray with the rest of the families who lost loved ones during these difficult times. We must continue to take the pandemic very seriously by practicing social distancing and wearing mask.
Further, I read the article on freedom newspaper written by ourbrother by the name of Samsudeen Sarr, where he selectivelycontinue to attack the work of TRRC especially when it comes to testimony of witnesses which contravenes with his own way of thinking. During Tamsir’s testimony, he mentioned he was Petty Officer First Class in the US Navy not a Chief Petty Officer as you alluded in your write-up. I must state, I read your book titled “Coup D’état” in its entirety, I must confess, it wasfull of demeaning and condescending remarks regarding other Officers in the GNA more importantly many felt your narration of events were not accurate. The same persona manifested in your recent article taking a jab at being only E-7 Chief Petty Officer in the US Navy. Your narration was Tamsir could not be appointed as IGP of The Gambia being a CHIEF in the World’s finest Navy. This is totally inaccurate and incoherent, it also exposed your lack of knowledge the role of a CHIEF in US NAVY.
I must conclude you do not know the role of a US NAVYCHIEF nor have you ever work with one during your entire military career, or just being total bullish as always. I must tell you US Navy CHIEFS are the backbone in US Navy. They are technical experts as well as subject matter experts in their field of expertise. A CHIEF mentors, trained junior Officers to be better leaders as well as better Naval Officers in our NAVY. Many CHIEFS acquired post graduate education, their career paths from an enlisted member to Officer is easily attained due to their competitive and stellar performance. I do not want my article to be misrepresented as some type of talking point for the TRRC or spokesman for Mr. Jassey but to share the role of a CHIEF in the world’s finest Navy. I share the creed of a CHIEF PETTY OFFICER US NAVY.
