A current serving member of the State Intelligence Services (SIS) Kebba Secka has branded fugitive Alhagie Morr Jobe as an evil guy, who is in the business of getting himself drunk before torturing detainees at the then National Intelligence Agency (NIA). Mr. Secka has calls himself as a victim of torture. He has accused Mr. Jobe of torturing him.
Secka was held with some Casamance rebels after been accused of terrorism and other related charges. He was also charged for negligence of duty.
He said it was during the course of his processing at the NIA that Alhagie Morr Jobe brutally tortured him. He has denied the allegations.
Mr. Jobe is currently in hiding in London, United Kingdom. He flee The Gambia shortly after the change of government.
Mr. Secka has also informed the truth commission that Journalist Alhagie Jobe, the former Deputy Editor of the Daily Observer was also tortured at the NIA. He said at the time of Jobe’s torture, he was working at the agency. He added that the December 30th failed coup detainees were also tortured.
According to Secka, Mr. Jobe was heading a special operations unit at the NIA before the change of government. He told the commission that the special unit was engaged in torture and other rights violations.
