GAMBIA RECALLS ITS DIPLOMAT FROM RUSSIA “FOR HIS INVOLVEMENT IN ACTIVITIES DEEMED UNBECOMING OF A FOREIGN SERVICE OFFICER.”

The Gambian government has recalled Yankuba Saidy, the Deputy Head of Mission at The Gambian Embassy in Russia. Saidy’s recall followed what the government called his involvement in activities which are deemed unbecoming of a Foreign Service Officer.

A letter issued by the Foreign Ministry and was addressed to Diplomat Yankuba Saidy  stated: “ You are hereby instructed to hand over all official matters to the Ambassador immediately who, by a copy of this missive, is hereby instructed to make arraignments for your immediate return to Banjul and for the repatriation of your family and personal effects in consultation with this Ministry. Your full cooperation with constituted authority in this vein will be of immense value.”
