The African Properties Limited has promised to refund Omar Jatta’s D450,000 dalasis after reaching a payment plan with their client, Freedom Newspaper can reveal. Omar Jatta, the Gunjur man, who is living in the United Kingdom, has accused the company of defrauding him D450,000 dalasis.
On Monday, African Properties, said it would refund Jatta’s money effective March 8th 20201, with D100,000 first installment ment payment. The second payment of D175,000 would be disbursed on March 15, while the third payment of D175,000 has been scheduled for March 22.
A payment plan letter issued to Mr. Jatta, has revealed that it would take the company one month to settle his money.
Jatta has accused the African Properties Chief Executive Officer Adi Jobe of allegedly selling a land to him without giving him the land lease papers. The land in question is located at Brufut Ghana town. Jatta said he bought the land from Jobe for D450,000 dalasis. It has been over seven months since he bought the land from Jobe and he hasn’t been issued any valid lease papers.
A frustrated Jatta told Freedom radio’s Sunday Leral show that despite repeated demands for Jobe to fulfill his side of the mortgage contractual agreement he reached with him, but to no avail. He said he has paid of his land, but Jobe wouldn’t issue him any lease papers.
Jobe has finally agreed to refund Jatta his money.
Jatta said the payment plan paperwork was handed to his sister Jainaba Jatta on Monday. He said the press coverage on the company seems to be working. Though, he is skeptical about Jobe’ promise. For now, he is banking on Jobe’s promise to recover his money.
