The disgraced Banjul Mayor Rohey Malick Lowe has been citied again for operating Gambia’s most corrupt City Council. She has been using her position to single handedly award contracts to close relatives.

In our today’s publication, we will expose the single source contracts that were awarded to Demba Cham, a close relative of the Mayor, for the renovation of the Banjul market toilets and metal door windows. Mr. Cham has been paid over three hundred thousand dalasis. Though the GPPA says “There was no evidence to show that the item supplied was inspected at the time of delivery due to the absence of Inspection Committee. There was no delivery receipt in the file as stipulated in Section 35(2) of the GPPA Act.”

  •  Procurement was conducted outside the procurement Unit. Hence, no GPPA Form was attach as part of the procurement records.
