The exiled Gambian dictator Yahya Jammeh has dissolved the APRC with immediate effect. He has also revoked the political merger that was formed between the APRC and the NPP.  To this end, Jammeh has selected an interim executive to form an alliance with the GANU political party, a party led by his former Justice Minister Sheikh Tijan Hydara.

Jammeh has told his supporters that they are free to join other political parties, but he pointed out that once they left the APRC, their membership with the party is over.

Jammeh has accused President Barrow’s government of derailing the educational sector that he left behind. He said his party will not form an alliance with the NPP.

Meanwhile, Jammeh’s statement has been greeted with shock and disappointment. Fabakary Tombong Jatta’s team have been left devastated by Jammeh’s pronouncement. Jatta has been quoted as saying that it is now that he believe that Jammeh is the most unreal person.
