Pa Nderry M’Bai is the Founder and Managing Editor/Publisher of the Freedom Newspaper. Mr.M’Bai  used to be the former Secretary General of The Gambia Press Union and also the Voice Of America Radio Africa Service Banjul Correspondent. While in the Gambia, Mr.M’Bai  worked as a Senior Staff  Reporter with the Banjul Based Daily Observer and the Point Newspaper respectively.

M’Bai’s journalistic pieces had appeared on major journals,  local and international. M’Bai set up the Freedom Newspaper with the support of his colleagues in a bid to expose official graft, corruption and rights abuses in the Gambia. The Freedom Newspaper came into being following the growing censorship in the Gambia, characterized by rights and governance crisis in that tiny West African country.

With less than  two years on the news stand, the Freedom Newspaper is  now a household name in the Gambia and beyond its frontiers. Universities, Researchers, Rights activists and other development partners used the paper as their source of “true and credible” Gambian news. The paper is well accessed, well read and well circulated. Three Staff Reporters are  currently on its payroll. All the three Reporters are  resident in the Gambia. Editor M’Bai can be reached by email at: [email protected]  The Freedom Newspaper offices is situated in Raleigh, North Carolina.
